Opening the "Japan Cultural Days in Quang Nam" (21/08/2018)
Celebrating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (21/9/1973 - 21/9/2018), The “Japan Cultural Days in Quang Nam” and “The 16th Hoi An – Japan Cultural Exchange 2018” events were officially opened in An Hoi Sculpture Garden, Hoi An city.
Quang Nam Party Secretary Nguyen Ngoc Quang, Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committtee Dinh Van Thu, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio attended the ceremony. 
The “Japan Cultural Days in Quang Nam” and “The 16th Hoi An – Japan Cultural Exchange 2018” took place from August 17th to 19th in Hoi An with many activities, which expand cooperation and relations between Quang Nam and Japan localities in fields of culture, art, trade, tourism, human resources development, labor and so on. 
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam People’s Committee Le Van Thanh talked about the long-standing relationship, historical and cultural similarities between two countries Vietnam and Japan. He emphasized Quang Nam’s position, one of the first places in the Japan and Vietnam 400-year relations through the Hoi An trading port as well as the happy marriage between Ngoc Hoa princess (Vietnam) and merchant Araki Sotaro (Japan).Going on the good relations, Quang Nam has initiatively promoted the friendship cooperation with Japanese partners and localities in various fields.
Quang Nam has attracted about 20 projects with a total of investment capital of more than 720 million USD from Japanese investors.At present, Quang Nam has more than 1,400 workers working in Japan under the program of sending and receiving Vietnamese trainees to Japan. 
Quang Nam has establised friendly relations with Nagasaki since 2017 and got positive results. Since 2003, Hoi An has organized Vietnam - Japan exchange festival...
Japanese Ambassador Umeda Kunio to Vietnam thanked Quang Nam province, Hoi An city for organizing the formal and impressive events of “Japan Cultural Days in Quang Nam” and “ The 16th Hoi An – Japan Cultural Exchange 2018”. He said Japan and Vietnam have celebrated 45 years of diplomatic relations with more than 120 events held in the two countries including the Japan Cultural Days in Quang Nam. However, standing on the stage of the opening ceremony last night, he once again felt that festival in Hoi An was a special event.
