A workshop on Quang Nam - Japan people-to-people exchanges (23/08/2018)
The Union of Friendship Organisations of Quang Nam held a workshop in Hoi An city on August 19 to promote people-to-people exchanges with Japan, celebrating 45 years of 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (21/9/1973-21/9/2018).
Quang Nam and Japan has had a long historical relationship through the Hoi An trading port as well as the happy marriage between Ngoc Hoa princess (Vietnam) and merchant Araki Sotaro (Japan).
The strong development of the bilateral relations in a comprehensive and practical manner creates a foundation for the two countries to expand people-to-people exchanges in various realms such as culture, education, and science-technology.
The Union of Friendship Organisations of Quang Nam is the  "bridge of friendship" between Quang Nam and the world including Japan in organizing humanitarian programs, livelihoods projects, human resource training, community health care, preserve and promote cultural values.
Hoi An is one of the localities in Vietnam having early friendship ties with Japan and the two sides boast long-standing trade, economic and culture exchanges. The past trade, economic and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Japan in Hoi have created a foundation for the thriving friendship at present. Over the past 30 years, many researchers, managers and entrepreneurs from Japan have come to Hoi An to cooperate in scientific research, heritage preservation, and investment to develop tourism and services. Through the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, Japanese organisations have provided financial and technical assistance for research, archaeological activities, and conservation of the ancient city as well as restoration of degrading relic sites.
Through this workshop , individuals and organizations of Japan and Quang Nam can met and exchange. Japanese partners can propose new ideas for the cooperation of two sides.
