Celebrating the 20th anniversary of UNESCO's recognition of Cultural Heritage (17/09/2018)
On September 6th, Vice Chairman Tran Van Tan chaired a meeting with the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism to discuss on celebrating the 20th anniversary of UNESCO's recognition of My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient Town as World Cultural Heritage and the 10th anniversary of the World Biosphere Reserve Cham Island. Leaders of departments, boards, and agencies attended.

This celebration aims to evaluate the achievements in preserving and promoting the value of Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary over 20 years, and the World Biosphere Reserve Cham Island for 10 years, which helps to introduce outstanding values of Hoi An, My Son, and Cham Island to people and tourists. These activities also contribute to raising awareness and responsibility of the community for the preservation of cultural and natural heritage in the integration period.

The anniversary activities are expected to be held in 2019 with the main activities such as starting Indochina tour; a Conference on Investment Promotion "Linking Heritage to Tourism Development"; an art exhibition on Cultural Heritage, International Workshop on Heritage Management Model; VTV Cup International Women's Volleyball Championship 2019 and so on.

Mr. Tan assigned the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to receive comments and to complete the plan and submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration.
