Quang Nam Party Secretary Nguyen Ngoc Quang, Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committtee Dinh Van Thu and representatives of provincial departments and agencies welcomed the Indian delegation.
During his visit, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and his wife visited My Son Sanctuary, tower, tower C, and watched Cham traditional performance.
Speaking at the reception, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ngoc Quang informed the socio-economic situation of Quang Nam province as well as tourist attractions in Quang Nam. He said that Quang Nam had many UNESCO heritages such as Cham Island, intangible cultural heritage Bai Choi, My Son Sanctuary with more than 70 brick architectural works built in the seventh century to the 13th century.
He also thanked the former for their sponsorship and expressed his hope that more assistance would come regarding the conservation of the historical site.
After touring the site, the President planted a bodhi tree, brought from India, near the entrance of the sanctuary.
