This ranking shows voices of the domestic and foreign business community on operating quality and business environment in 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam.
The PCI 2018 was based on rigorous surveys of the positions of more than 12,000 firms operating in Vietnam, including nearly 11,000 private companies, in 63 cities and provinces and more than 1,500 foreign-invested enterprises in 20 localities.
In addition to the operating quality of localities in 2018, this ranking provides a multidimensional perspective on the quality of handling administrative procedures, human resources, and infrastructure in Vietnam.
The PCI 2018 report reviews local private firms’ capability in accessing the global value chain, indicating that they confront a number of difficulties and barriers in participating.
According to the PCI 2018 report, Quang Ninh province earned the highest score of 70.36 on a 100-point scale and to be the most competitive locality in the country as it topped the first in the ranking. Other provinces are in the top 10 are: Dong Thap (70.19 points), Long An (68.09 points), Ben Tre (67.67 points), Da Nang (67.65 points), Binh Duong (66.09 points), Quang Nam ( 65.85 points), Vinh Long (65.53 points), Hanoi (65.40 points) and Ho Chi Minh City (65.34 points).
Quang Nam province received many positive reviews from private enterprises on efforts to improve the business environment and ranked the seventh.
