The project is sponsored by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMU) of Germany through WWF Vietnam.
The project aims to effectively protect the biological diversity and the ecosystems of the trans-boundary forest landscapes of the Central Annamites in Vietnam and Laos through improved management of natural resources.
PPC assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to strictly comply with the regulations on receiving, managing and using foreign non-governmental aids and Decree No. 34/2014 / ND-CP dated April 29, 2014.
The project costs nearly 1.84 million euros (about USD 2.1 million), lasting from March 2019 to March 2025 under the leadership of the Quang Nam provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
When the project is finised, protected area network is expanded and effectively protected; capacities of local agencies to implement national policies and international regulations on illegal wildlife and timber trade are enhanced; community engagement in sustainable natural resource management and protection has increased; and sustainable financing mechanisms are developed and promoted to key decision makers.
