The event is set to bring together the traditional cultures of both countries for local residents and tourists to enjoy.
The opening ceremony is penciled in to start at 8pm on August 9 in the An Hoi sculpture garden and will feature performances by artists from both nations. Japanese singers Ueno Yuka and band Kolme will perform along with Vietnamese singer Duc Phuc at the event.
A 17th century wedding parade will be re-enacted for Princess Ngoc Hoa and Japanese businessman Araki Sotaro at 4:30pm on August 10 and August 11 on the banks of the Hoai river.
The old quarter of Hoi An will play host to a wide range of activities such as a fine art and handicraft exhibition, a calligraphy exhibition, a Yosakoi dance exchange, a cosplay performance, a lantern making competition, and sporting activities.
