Over the past time, the propaganda on food safety and hygiene has been promoted. The awareness and practice of managers, producers, traders and consumers on ensuring food safety and hygiene have made positive changes.
The inspection and examination work was carried out synchronously and in coordination with related sectors such as Health, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, Police, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province. In the first 04 months of 2020, there was 01 case of food poisoning in the collective kitchen (kitchen of canteen 2) of Sedo Vinako Co., Ltd., address: Dong Yen Hamlet, Duy commune Trinh, Duy Xuyen district with 25 infected people, no deaths, unknown causes of food poisoning. The Department organized 01 food safety supervision during festivals, conferences and political events. It was the Program of Economic, Cultural and Tourism Exchange Program organized by Mr. Nikai Toshihiro , General Secretary of the Liberal Democratic Party, Chairman of the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Union led to visit Vietnam with 52 meals.
However, there still are some food facilities that do not comply with food safety regulations. The production environment is not hygienic. Some products and toys for childrens do not have labels, clear origins. Some expired food items do not meet food safety requirements were in grocery business.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Van Tan suggested that in the coming time, the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene continue keep eyes with food safety, food poisoning and communication about foodm, enhance the works of inspection. Doing well the food safety at the ASIAN conference, the Party Congress at all levels, especially the Provincial Party Congress. Strictly handle violations, publicize inspection results on the mass media.
