Reported from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first 6 months, the production value of agriculture, forestry and fishery is stable and reach the targets.
 
The estimated production value of  agriculture, forestry and fishery in the first 6 months of 2020 is estimated at VND 7,698.6 billion, up 3.0% over the same period in 2019, of which agriculture reaches 4,665.1 billion dong, up 2.2%; forestry reached 799 billion dong, up 5.1%; fishery reached 2,234.4 billion dong, up 3.9%.
 
The total annual cultivated area of ​​the whole winter-spring crop in the 2019-2020 season reached more than 77.7 thousand hectares, equaling 99.8% compared to the same period last year, of which the group of grain crops had 46.9 thousand hectares, equaling 99.2%; the group of starchy crops reached 8.5 thousand hectares, equaling 94.5%; group of seed oil-bearing plants reaches 8.5 thousand hectares, equaling 101.4%; group of vegetables, beans and flowers reached 9.96 thousand ha, equaling 103.4%; group of spice and medicinal plants gained 1.2 thousand hectares, equaling 109.1%; the group of other annual plants reached 2.25 thousand ha, equaling 105.7%.
 
The total poultry population is estimated to reach 7.98 million, an increase of 7.7% compared to the same period in 2019. However, cattle raising tends to decrease compared to the same period due to African swine fever. The buffalo is estimated at 61.7 thousand heads, down 3.1%;  173 thousand cows, up 2.7%; 260 thousand pigs, down 38.1% over the same period last year.
 
In addition, the  the newly concentrated forestation area is estimated at 3,250 ha, an increase of 4.5% over the same period in 2019; The area of ​​tended planted forests in the period reached 34 thousand hectares, up 14.5%; the number of dispersed planted trees was estimated at 3.57 million, up 2.7%; exploited wood production was estimated at 742 thousand m3, an increase of 3.3%.
