The rate of poor households in delta districts decreased 2.42% (27/09/2020)
On September 25th, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs held a workshop with the topic "Some solutions of sustainable poverty reduction in the delta region of Quang Nam". Vice Chairman Tran Van Tan chaired the workshop.
 
Speaking at the workshop, Mr.Tan highly appreciated the work of poverty reduction in delta districts. By the end of 2019, the rate of poor households in delta districts decreased to 2.42%. However, poverty reduction in the delta area still faces many difficulties and problems. Up to now, the delta area still has 09 poor communes. In order to achieve more positive results in poverty reduction, Mr. Tan asked the participants to actively discuss, contribute ideas, share experiences, only shortcomings and shortcomings; propose practical and feasible solutions for the next stage.
 
According to the report at the workshop, in the 2016-2020 period, the total funding for the implementation  for sustainable poverty reduction is more than 100 billion VND. Through poverty reduction programs and policies, the lives of people and poor households have been markedly improved. By the end of 2019, the overall rate of poor households in the whole province was 6.06%. The rate in delta districts decreased 6.15% to 2.42%. The number of poor communes in the delta decreases by 04 communes compared to 2015. The number of poor communes in coastal areas and islands has decreased from 19 communes in 2016 to 08 communes by the end of 2019 and it is expected that by the end of 2020, there will be no poor communes in coastal areas and islands.
 
However, there are still many difficulites in poverty reduction. Currently, the whole province has 6 poor districts and 63 poor communes, of which there are 09 poor communes in the delta area. The life of people in rural still has many difficulties. Some poor households have thoughts of waiting and relying on the mechanisms and policies of the State, lack of initiative to escape poverty. Some policies to support poverty reduction are still spread, the level of support is low, cannot promote the internal strengths of the people ...
 
At the seminar, the delegates focused on discussing and sharing issues: solutions to support job creation, labor export in implementing poverty reduction goals; support for poverty reduction, social security for poor households; building models for linking production and selling products; improve the quality of vocational training associated with job creation for workers...
