Speaking at the opening of the national online conference in 2020, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha emphasized that the school year 2019 - 2020 is a "special" school year, full of difficulties and challenges for the Education sector. Due to COVID-19, the Ministry of Education and Training has adjusted the school year plan twice. Therefore, the time to organize the Conference of the whole sector was held later than in previous years.
This school year, the Education sector focuses on implementing Conclusion No. 51-KL / TW of the Secretariat on continuing to implement the Resolution of the Central Government on fundamental innovation, comprehensive education and training; focus on implementing the National Assembly's Resolution No. 88/2014 / QH13 on reforming new general education curriculum and textbooks. In addition, the whole sector has strived to implement the fundamental and comprehensive renovation of education and training, achieving a number of important achievements.
The past period also marked a breakthrough of higher education in implementing autonomy and improving the quality of training. Index of scientific research increased sharply; the number of international publications has increased continuously. The non-public education system has developed impressively. Education at the same time makes its mark with a strong digital transformation; promote the application of information technology in teaching and learning, typically online teaching via the internet and on television, especially during the period of social separation and isolation due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Deploying the mission of the 2020-2021 school year and the orientation for the period of 2021-2025, the Ministry will continue to direct the whole sector to reform fundamentally, comprehensively Education sector. Concluding the conference, Mr. Vu Duc Dam, Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the results, achievements and comprehensive progress that the Education sector has achieved in the 2019-2020 school year, 2021-2025. In the coming time, the Deputy Prime Minister requires departments, branches, all levels of Party committees and local authorities to focus, strongly engage in education. Education must continue to innovate in the direction of integration, following the trend of the world but must be suitable with the actual conditions in Vietnam.
