Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Park Noh-wan - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea to Vietnam' Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of General Department of Sport and Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Tan.
Accordingly, this year's tournament attracts about 800 athletes from 47 clubs from provinces, cities and branches throughout the country. Athletes compete for 91 medals at 3 ages: 12-14 years old, 15-17 years old and over 17 years old. The award took place over a period of 5 days and nights, from 9 to 13 April.
This tournament helps to evaluate the quality of coaching and training of localities and units nationwide. At the same time, this is an opportunity for athletes to improve their professional qualifications and competency, helping the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation to find, discover and select athletes for the national team participating in the SEA Games 31.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province said: We hope that this tournament will be an opportunity for coaches and athletes to exchange experiences, take advantage of time to visit, learn and experience at world cultural heritages, historical sites, culture, landscapes and traditional craft villages in Quang Nam province. This is also a national-scale sports event welcoming the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and deputies of People's Councils at all levels, towards celebrating 550 years named Quang Nam.
