After nearly 6 years of implementing the Prime Minister's Decision No. 50/2014/QD-TTg on supporting policies to improve the efficiency of household farming livestock production in the period 2015-2020, the livestock industry has achieved many positive results. During this period, the Government has allocated more than 830 billion VND to implement policies to improve the efficiency of household livestock production. In which, support for artificial insemination for pigs is more than 218 billion VND; supporting the purchase of artificial insemination for buffaloes and cows with more than VND 258 billion; supporting the purchase of livestock and poultry breeds with more than 25 billion VND, ; supporting waste treatment with more than 159 billion VND; supporting more than 17 billion VND for biological padding; and more than 147 billion VND to support breeding, materials and other equipment.
The policies of Decision 50 have positively impacted livestock development as well as changed the income of livestock households by 5-10%. With a small budget, the Policy has brought significant economic benefits, ensure social security. The program has improved the productivity of pigs, buffaloes and cows by providing free financial support. raising high-quality breeding cows, supporting high-quality pig semen improve the productivity and quality of commercial pigs supplied to the market; supporting waste treatment works in livestock (Biogas and bio-buffers....). It also has changed people's awareness, changed the face of rural areas, improved the livestock environment, and reduced environmental pollution, and create fuel for livestock and people's daily activities.
In Quang Nam, in the period 2016-2020, the province has implemented support policies to improve the efficiency of household livestock production with the following contents: support to buy nitrogen containers to preserve frozen cow semen; purchasing of boars and bulls; supporting livestock waste treatment; support training techniques for artificial insemination of cattle. The total funding is more than 19.4 billion VND.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said: Currently, the amount of meat, dairy and egg products of enterprises only accounts for 47-48%, the rest belongs to small livestock households. Therefore, in parallel with promoting large-scale farming, it is still necessary to pay attention to supporting the development of household livestock and traditional livestock in association with the development of specialty livestock and eco-tourism.
