The Ministry of Information and Communications deploys the task of 2022

On December 22nd, the Ministry of Information and Communications held a Conference to review the work in 2021, deploy the direction and tasks in 2022.

In 2021, the whole industry's revenue reached VND 3,462,170 billion, basically completing 100% of the set plan, up 9% compared to 2020, a growth rate of 3.6 - 4.5 times higher than forecast. The total number of employees in the information and communication industry in 2021 reached 1,431,041 employees, an increase of 8% compared to 2020. The ranking indicators in a number of fields of the information and communication industry have been highly appreciated by many international organizations.

According to the report on the integrated index of postal development in 2021 published by the Universal Postal Union (UPU), Vietnam ranks 47th out of 172 countries (up 2 places compared to 2020); in the field of Cyber ​​​​Information Security, Vietnam has had a strong promotion in the international rankings (GCI) (from position 50 in 2020 to position 25 in 2021). In 2021, the number of national domain names ".vn" reached 544,361 domain names, an increase of 5.2% compared to 2020, belonging to the Top 11 Asia-Pacific, ranking 45th globally.

Regarding communication and press work, in 2021, the arrangement and planning of press agencies has been completed in 29/29 ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and government-attached agencies; 33/33 organized associations at the Central and Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; 31/31 localities. The licensing of the establishment of new press agencies, the granting of more types of press, and the re-grant of press operation licenses are carried out cautiously, objectively and scientifically.

The press has actively updated and honestly reflected the main currents of Vietnamese society, propagated the right way of doing things, popularized and replicated advanced examples, good examples of good people and good deeds.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam suggested that in 2022, the Ministry of Information and Communications needs to continue to supplement and perfect Vietnam's platforms with the goal of both preventing and fighting the COVID epidemic. Prioritize the development of national digital platforms. After successfully building a residential database and a business database, a land management platform is very important.

In 2022, the Ministry of Information and Communications aims to put Vietnam in the group of 80 leading countries in e-government and digital government. Orientation to 2025, the whole country will have 100,000 digital technology enterprises and at least 10 localities with revenue of the information technology industry of over 1 billion USD.
