Promote responsible tourism associated with nature and wildlife conservation

On September 26, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Management Board of the Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation Project (VFBC) of Quang Nam province and the International Organization for Conservation of Nature in Vietnam (WWF - Vietnam) to organize the workshop "Responsible tourism associated with nature and wildlife conservation".

At the meeting

This workshop is within the framework of the technical assistance project "Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation" funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implements the direction of the People's Committee of Quang Nam Province in Directive No. 12/CT-UBND dated August 21, 2023 regarding enhancing wildlife management and protection measures.

In 2023, the Quang Nam province's tourist industry has a target of 7 million visitors, with a total revenue from tourism of about 9,000 billion VND. In addition to solutions to promote the tourism industry to recover and accelerate after the pandemic, tourism development associated with the responsibility to protect nature and wildlife is also considered to help the local tourism industry develop sustainably.

At the workshop, under the witness of the management agency, 24 tourism businesses in the province signed a commitment to join hands to conserve wild animals to preserve the ecosystem, protect sustainable development, and comply with the legal laws and regulations related to wildlife.
