400 contestants participate in the 2024 Ao Dai and folk dance performance competition

On the morning of August 4, the Women's Union of Quang Nam province held the opening ceremony of the 2024 Ao Dai, National Costume and Sports Dance Competition.

Attending the ceremony were the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee Huynh Thi Thuy Dung; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan, and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province Le Thai Binh, Secretary of Tam Ky City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Lan.

Speaking at the opening of the contest, Ms. Dang Thi Le Thuy - Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union said: This is the second year that the Provincial Women's Union has organized the Ao dai and national costume performance contest and The first year of organizing sports folk dance performances. The contest aims to affirm the beauty of traditional ao dai and national costumes; Raise awareness among women members and people from all walks of life about preserving cultural identity as well as the role of sports in training health and willpower; contribute to the formation of a new society for comprehensive development, promoting the tradition of national solidarity, encouraging emulation movements, and successfully implementing the socio-economic development goals of the province.

At the opening ceremony, a unique and impressive ao dai performance took place with 1,000 Association officials and women members from across the province participating.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, 400 contestants from 18 districts, towns, and cities competed in the ao dai, national costume and sports dance competitions. The units brought impressive and unique performances to the contest, meticulously and methodically invested. Contestants participated in the performance with a confident and professional demeanor, exuding the graceful beauty of traditional ao dai, stylized ao dai, and ethnic minority costumes.
